“breakdown.” OUT NOW!!! 🖤 I wrote this song because it’s been the hardest year for me mentally. I feel myself changing and throughout my life I’ve never felt good enough, it’s just been the main thing that on the one hand has driven me forward but on the other, has eaten me up. For as long as I can remember I have felt constantly afraid of how quickly my head can turn dark. It’s always been so hard to me fight the darkness that I inevitably have. A lot of people will say it’s a phase and it will go away. But it doesn’t and the reality of the situation is I have to find strategies to allow it to exist and to deal with it as a constant. A lot of us can feel like our lives are insignificant. We can feel like we have no purpose, so what is there to live for? The inexplicable darkness inside our heads can consume us. It can make it hard to get out of bed in the morning, force us to cancel plans, or back out of opportunities last minute. This song was written as a message to myself to try and exist alongside my insecurities and my darkness by grounding myself and remembering what is real in life and that the world is so much bigger than me. In the past my art has been about highlighting the pain and letting the world know that it is there, in order to relate to others but now I want to beat it. This song is a gateway to where my new music is heading. Embracing the light, realising what’s beautiful in the world and fighting the darkness - not wallowing in it. It’s about getting out of your head and noticing the world around you, the things and people. Connect with them, the chances are they probably feel the same. Don’t let the bullshit inside your head consume you. It just wastes precious time and life potential. Remember what is real. Help people, be kind, help the world, help yourself. You’re probably living more than you think.

Stay strong yung man and as long as you have a few "real" friends around you things can and will be ok in the end as long as you can let them help you if and when needed. Life is a definitley a rollercoaster for sure and we all just hope the safety bars are down and secure. Just enjoy what you can and leave what you aren't able to in the moment :) x

Dom speaks not only to the young ones but also to the older ones above their 30s who did not find that spark to voice what they really feel inside and they see someone like Yungblud coming out here with a fresh pair of eyes and like a guitar pitch to help you find your voice through his lyrics, you are able to voice the question ' who are you?' And from here you are able to find your meaning and an anchor to hold on to. Music is community, love, and self realisation. Very few artists out there speak a truth through lyrics from heart to heart, and yungblud is one of them!

Hi Sophie I’m so sorry for your loss. I too lost my mom last April to cancer, it was pancreatic. She was the strongest, bravest, kindest and purest human on earth. Unfortunately the music industry only promotes the lighter side of life, although we need the dark to appreciate the light, most music out there are love songs / heartbreak / aimed at our youth bc they’re the consumers who listen to what is catchy and in all honesty light hearted mixed with not always great messages, sex / drugs / and how to get laid or treat others, it’s cool to not give a fuck anymore

He is more a real artist than a singer who could have come out any dozen of boy bands. What is rare is him NOT having to go through the fake boy band mills to gain traction. Crafting real sounds with real emotions and writing songs for himself that equate to his generation sometimes can unexpectedly reverberate out beyond. There will always be a common theme that thread all of humanity- emotions. Genuine Artist cut across time. I think YBLUD certainly has it in him. 56 year old guy, never heard of you before in my life and came here because of a short. Glad I took a chance and looked deeper. I hope you find real self worth through your success, I hope you find clarity, purpose and peace despite your success because it too can be a real skull f'k. Most of all I hope you enjoy the moment because we are not promised another. I've got cancer, (don't worry I'm cool with it), and it taught me to appreciate the moment we live in, the moments we have made and if the chance of a moment tomorrow becomes a reality then to give thanks for another one. If you think you're running away from the dark you are really running towards the light. And at least you've chosen to do something.

Touching song Dom. I've struggled with this for years and lost everything and everyone. Now I'm isolated and spend every day alone and find it hard just to leave my flat. I am someone who is gifted artistically and someone who values the beauty of life and all that it has to offer, yet I battle each and every day in my mind as to either enjoy what life has to offer or completely give up and give in.

My daughter has been in the NICU for three weeks and one day. This song came out the same time she came into this world. Little miss cries you play this song she goes to sleeo and calms down. The whole song is a poetic masterpiece and with the add on of the short film with the wise woman giving him advice and telling him the harsh realities of the world and that he just has to choose how it affects his life. Is a truly amazing add on to the song because it makes so much sense since Dom is fighting demons that are trying to make him breakdown but he keeps running from it but the lady tells him he has to face it. I will forever love Dominic and his music till I die he’s truly a big part of my healing and my mental health peace.

I’ve battled anxiety and depression pretty much my whole life .. not really realising how bad it was getting as things built up but it only got really bad over the past 2 years and everyday is such a blady battle so this song hits home so hard … 100% F depression.. we all got this !!!! This is the motivation that I needed, and Im so glad other people can experience the message that you bring, your saving lives, I hope you know that. Man, love yourself, you really deserve it! I just got committed for the first time at 53. It finally broke me after years of fighting it. All my life I've been watching other people give up, and I still kept running towards something. I finally found it, and I had to stop and rest for a while. You got to stop, take a breath and believe you are the greatest person you can be. I'm crying right now, and I'm the one that never cries. I do now!
